An ofrenda is an altar, built to honor lost loved ones. Offerings are placed upon the ofrenda, to help us remember, learn about, and celebrate their lives.

In celebration of Día de los Muertos, Robb has set up an Ofrenda outside of the library. He welcomes all families to bring a framed picture of a lost loved one and place on the ofrenda through the end of October. 

*Please make sure to put your name on the back of the picture so it gets returned home safely.

Because Alice Carlson’s supply needs are specific to our applied learning curriculum, we do not follow the standard FWISD school supply list. Our PTA purchases all supplies and makes sure they’re organized and ready in classrooms before the first day of school.

Just a friendly reminder that all volunteers must complete the volunteer application and background check before volunteering at school.

We’ve been hearing that there are currently some delays, and the process may take up to a week, so please plan ahead!

Once you submit your application, you should receive two emails:

• 📩 The first confirms that your application was received.
• 📩 The second provides an update on your application status.

Please make sure your application is fully approved before signing up to volunteer. This approval is required in order to participate in volunteer opportunities and complete your 20 volunteer hours.

The 2026-2027 FWISD Volunteer Application & Background Check is LIVE!

Every adult family member who would like to volunteer at Alice Carlson MUST complete this application EVERY YEAR! 

If you completed this application for the 2025-2026 school year, you MUST complete it again for the 2026-2027 school year. The Volunteer Application and Background Check is only valid for one school year and must be completed again at the beginning of each new school year.

Please note: If you check in at the front office to volunteer during school hours and you have not completed your volunteer application, the school will not be able to allow you to volunteer.
