Counseling Program

Hi!

I'm so excited to be joining Alice Carlson this year as the campus counselor! I look forward to meeting all of you and working with your kids this year!

I'm also a Carlson parent, so I may look familiar! My son Crosby will start 2nd grade this year, and my daughter Violet will be in Kindergarten. My husband Drew is the Park for the Arts Chair, so you'll see him at Carlson on game days!

This is my 21st year in education, and my 19th year as a counselor. I spent the majority of my time in Keller ISD and worked in elementary and middle schools as a counselor and then finished my time there as an Intervention Counselor. I joined FWISD last year to be closer to home, and worked just down the road as a counselor at Alice D. Contreras Elementary.

I'll spend this year working with your students in classroom guidance lessons where we'll focus on character development/ways to manage big emotions/navigating peer conflict, and lots of other things. It's one of my favorite parts of the job! I'll also have the opportunity to support kids who need extra help during the school day with big emotions/other struggles that might come up.

I'm also here for you! Please reach out if there are things I can support you in! Parenting is my greatest joy, but it's a hard job. I'd love to be a resource for you and your family as needed.
