Mathoween

Ever seen a bright idea, number wizard, flash card, or piece of Pi?  You just might at Mathoween, a school-wide family event held in the evening and centered around student created math games.  Students are encouraged to wear math related costumes and attend with their families.  In the weeks leading up to Mathoween, each class works together and in special committees to create, advertise, and prepare their own math games.  Students are expected work a shift for their class game to teach and oversee the game their classroom created, and they also get to play the games created by other classes.

This is an Applied Learning event, and as such, the final step in any AL project is sharing with an outside audience.  Families are encouraged to travel with their Coyote and play games together, being that audience for each other.
