STANDARD ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL INFORMATION

Arrival

The daily school hours are from 7:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. for all students; however, students can enter the building anytime between 7:30 and 7:50 a.m. Students who eat breakfast at school are to report to the cafeteria at this time. Students may go directly to their classrooms, beginning at 7:40 a.m.  Students who arrive prior to 7:30 a.m. should be participating in the Clayton Youth Enrichment Services program. Clayton YES! is in the building from 7:00-8:00 a.m. and from 3:00-6:30 p.m.

Dismissal

Students will be dismissed by their teachers in front of the school. Please facilitate school dismissal by meeting your child there.  Students who participate in the Clayton Day Care program will go to the cafeteria at 3:20 p.m.  It is very important that students be picked up on time. At 3:30 p.m., the teachers will take any student who has not been picked up to the office, where parents may pick them up. The office staff leaves at 3:45 p.m. and the office is closed after that time.

Rear of Building

Parents who drop off and pick up their children in the parking lot behind the building should park in the designated parking spaces.  Parents must escort their child from the car, across the parking lot, and into the building using the canopy door.  For safety reasons, children must not be allowed to walk through the parking lot unattended.

Please watch the Parking Lot Safety Video that Christi’s class created.

If you use Clayton Day Care, please escort your child in and out of the building through the cafeteria door.

Front of Building

Parents who drop off and pick up their children on W. Cantey Street in the front of the building should park alongside the curb (no double parking). Children should enter or exit the car on the curb side. We discourage parents from parking across the street and walking in between the carpool line as there is danger of not being seen by cars who are pulling away from the curb. Parents who drop off and pick up students in the front of the building should not park in the bus zone during the times stated by the bus zone sign.

Rainy Day Dismissal

For K-4th Grade Students:

Car Line

Students will remain in the classroom until their name is called over the campus speaker by a staff member communicating with our car line caller. Once family names are called, students will exit out of the closest door facing W. Cantey and be supported by staff to vehicles. There are specific staff members assigned inside the building to help K/1 safely get from the classroom to a staff member outside.

Walk Up

K-4 parents will park and walk around the building to the balcony entrance on W. Cantey. A staff member will confirm your identity against our eligible pickup list and clear you to walk to your child's classroom to pick up students.

For 5th Grade Students and Siblings:

Car Line

Students collect siblings and go to the gym. The caller will be outside, and staff will be in the gym to help students out of the door and to cars on Stadium Drive.

Walk Up

A staff member will be stationed at the gym door facing the OLE/soccer field. Students will be called out to parents.

BUS

K/1 students will be picked up by staff. 2-5 will come down to the auditorium and remain there until buses arrive.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS: TUESDAY - THURSDAY

We will follow the same procedures for K-4 students above. The only adjustment is that they will be waiting in the main hallway (not classrooms) to be called outside by the carline caller.

SOCCER/FLY FISHING: FRIDAYS

Students will dismiss from the gym.
