*There will be a second opportunity coming for families to sign up on December 1st, 2023 and join these clubs starting in January.

 

Girl Scouts

 

Wednesday

3:20-4:20pm

Grades K-5

Girls Scouts earn badges each time they attend a meeting and complete the activities. As part of the entrepreneurship part of Girl Scouts, scouts sell cookies to earn money for the troop. Proceeds allow us to offer more activities and badges. Daisies (Grades K-1), Brownies (Grades 2-3), and Juniors (Grades 4-5).

 

Year-round September 6 to May 29 (does not meet when school is not in session)

Limited to 25 students

Fee: $25/year

Chess Club

The Knight School Chess Team is your school's official chess team and chess party. The Knight School's approach has had amazing success—winning multiple state championships—because its unique and unprecedented educational philosophy, “the chess party,” is the perfect way to transform a complete beginner into a devastating chess machine. 

 

Year-round September 7 to May 30 (doesn’t meet when school is not in session) 

Limited to 25 students

Grades K-5

Children will learn Spanish words and phrases in the context of fun, interactive stories. Games, activities, and songs will be used to practice vocabulary and a spiral review is incorporated into all lessons to reinforce concepts.

Cooking in the Kitchen

 

Tuesday

Grades 3-5

Students will learn food safety, tools of the kitchen, how to measure dry and wet ingredients, and basic knife skills! This is a great opportunity for your student to learn the ‘how’ of creating a healthy diet and healthy lifestyle. Lessons will cover MyPlate, and students will learn how to make healthy snacks for themselves!

Texas Ballet Theater’s City Dance Outreach Program is a unique program offered once a week for 5 weeks and includes the introduction of basic ballet training, French terminology, a history of ballet and current applications, and classical music education- all at no cost to you! The course is open to both boys and girls and no previous experience is required. 

 

Five Weeks – January 19 to February 16

Lego Engineering

Grades K-2

Using LEGO® bricks, kids build a different engineering-themed project in each class. They explore different engineering fields including mechanical, structural, aerospace, nautical, and bioengineering. They use critical thinking and creative problem-solving to test and improve their creations. 

 

11 weeks: March 19 to May 28

Nanda Yoga

Join Nanda Yoga, Fort Worth's first Kids Yoga Community, for an amazing after school yoga program. We introduce them to the basic foundations of mindfulness, movement and meditation through exciting and age appropriate stories, songs, and games. Your child will gain strength and flexibility, body awareness, social emotional skills, concentration and focus as well as positive coping tools. We strive to create kind, authentic and resilient kids one yoga class at a time!  

 

11 weeks: March 19 to May 28  

Limited to 20 students
